We are now two weeks soother (blinky/dummy) free!! I know it doesnt sound like a big deal but it is - Lily has been very brave about it all and so far we've only had the odd hissy fit about it.
We did the whole "send it to Santa" trick and it worked but did take a lot of reminding and build up. There were tears and a lot of big brave girl chats to make it work.

Lily though was more interested in making sure she got a red fire truck in exchange - although when she has a bad 10 minutes she asks to give the truck back for her soothers but she calms and moves on.

my bug bear about it all is that if it was a Teddy or a Blanket, no-one would bat an eyelid about Lily still having one at 3 1/2 but soothers seem to be a fire starter for a lot of people. For us, it was more the fact that when she would talk, she would spit out the soother to the floor constantly. Her speech is fine and so far Lily is showing none of the speech theraphy issues that Fay had (who did not like a soother).
and Lily had decided she will not look at the camera to the point she'd rather burst into tears... so heres my girls in their party dresses :)Fay is getting all Grown up these days... scary times ahead.

Lots of things going on around here at the moment - hoping it calms down a little so I can think straight for 20 minutes or so so i can get the words straight and share it.
