Stairs, Stairs and more stairs... Barcelona is an old city so houses tend to be narrow, tall and full of stairs. If you are lucky sometimes theyc ome with a retrofitted lift the size of a fridge and looks like the one from willa wonkas chocolate factory.
we are lucky as we are the ground floor so no stairs for us but if you have to move anything in or out, you have to use these pulley contraptions or get a crane bed with a moving track ramp.
the thing is they could have made them very functional and plain like this one ...
or they can go full out metal ironwork like this one...
mostly, its prettiness that wins as Barcelona seems to be big into decorative ironwork.
